After several years learning and teaching-to-learn with All Teach Maths Tuition, the majority of our students choose to stay on our teach-to-learn programme in year 12 and 13. This is a paid teaching programme, with paid traning in June/July of year 11 which comes with a significant deepening of your maths skills. We sometimes take on year 12 or 13 students without experience of learning and teaching-to-learn in ethical tutors, provided they are taking maths A-level and subject to an interview and practice session.
Benefits:
- Expenses budget of £75 per month all year round ((including the long holidays)
- Continued bi-weekly sessions throughout years 12 & 13 to deepen understanding of the maths curriculum through teaching younger people, with all the usual support from your teacher
- Paid training month at the end of year 11.
- Three one month teacher training programmes over the two years (plus two more in year 9 & 10 if you join the pre-training scheme)
- Huge amounts of teaching experience with the depth of subject understanding, and the multiple social and practical skills that come from this
- Continued development of mindfulness and emotional intelligence
- The perfect sixth form job , working only 3 hours a week in term time, with a £75 a month expenses budget
- 13 weeks paid holidays (paid throughout the school year, including the long school holidays)
- A reference for university and first employment in which all of your skill sets and strengths will be mentioned at length
- Studying an A-level in the subject is not compulsory; in fact we like a mix of A-level on non-A-level studying sixth form teachers
- Full sick pay above statutory sick pay, including one-day sickness and long term sickness (up to one term).
Sponsoring Adults
All young adults on the teaching-to-learn programme need a sponsoring adult. The sponsoring adult needs to commit to making a pay-what-you-want financial contribution, though as for regular learners there is no fixed amount. People typically pay between £25 and £75 per month. The sponsoring adult also needs to book in any sickness absences (as these are paid in full) until the young person turns 18.
Year 9, 10 & 11 Training Scheme
It is highly recommended for students interested in the year 12 & 13 teaching-to-Learn programme to join the training scheme in years 10 & 11. This scheme is completely free, and runs neatly along side you regular ethical tutors sessions. The commitment is to do three-session per long term teaching in the younger learners circle on a Monday alongside your regular Wednesday sessions. This will also allow you to take part in the month long summer teacher training programme (within the usual term time older group sessions).
